WWE has announced that next year’s Royal Rumble will take at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida on January 27.

It is one of the biggest events of the year for the company as it kick starts WrestleMania season and begins the build to the show. 

In recent years, WWE has had cities bid on some of its bigger events just like they do with WrestleMania. They’ve done this in the past with SummerSlam, Money in the Bank, and Royal Rumble. 

A public relations director for Visit St. Pete-Clearwater revealed they spent $500,000 of its tourist development funding in its successful bid to secure the event.
